Study on the Behavior and Removal of Cadmium and Zinc Using Taraxacum officinale and Gazania under the Application of Biodegradable Chelating Agents

The removal of cadmium (Cd) and zinc (Zn) from soil by phytoremediation was investigated using Taraxacum officinale Gazania. A plant environmental control system used to cultivate the plants. effects different biodegradable chelating agents (i.e., EDDS, HIDS, GLDA), relative humidity, other competitive metals on adsorption Cd Zn were also studied. In addition, approach for metal recovery explored extraction plants after concentrations determined inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) tests performed.to determine significant differences between experimental treatments adopted in this work. Consequently, following main conclusions obtained: (1) case officinale, could be removed even under presence heavy metals. (2) By adding a agent, amount absorbed shoot generally increased. (3) Gazania, concentration higher root than that shoot, whereas root. (4) more suitable (5) extracted low nitric acid. (6) ANOVA showed no statistically among treatments.
